A new boiler is one of the bigger costs in running a home, so it helps to know what to expect before you get quotes. This guide sets out typical UK price ranges, what makes a job cost more or less, and how to spread the cost.
Every home is different. We survey the property first and then give you a fixed written price, so the figures below are a guide only.
Typical UK prices for a new boiler, fitted
- Like-for-like combi boiler swap: around £1,800 to £3,500
- System boiler replacement: around £1,800 to £5,000
- Conventional (regular) boiler replacement: around £1,800 to £4,500
- Converting a regular or system boiler to a combi: around £3,000 to £5,700
- Oil boiler replacement: around £3,000 to £6,000
These ranges are taken from national price guides published by Heatable and Fantastic Services in autumn 2026.

- Cleaning the system, for example a chemical or power flush
- Controls, such as a smart thermostat
- A magnetic system filter to protect the new boiler

Questions about boiler costs
How much does a new combi boiler cost?
National guides currently put a like-for-like combi swap at roughly £1,800 to £3,500 fitted. The exact price depends on the boiler, the flue, any pipework changes and the controls you choose.
Why does converting to a combi cost more?
Removing a hot water cylinder and loft tanks, rerouting pipework and sometimes moving the boiler all add labour and materials, so conversions typically cost more than a straight swap.
Can I spread the cost?
Yes. We offer finance through TradeHelp, including 0% interest free options over 12 or 24 months, subject to application and status.
